Meet the SugarCups Girls! - A Little Tour of Sugar Cup Wonderland
Four little sweet-lovers, a world that fits behind a teacup, and quite a lot of personality packed into 13 centimetres.
Imagine setting down a cup of tea, turning away for a moment, and discovering that somebody has been investigating the biscuits. In Azone's SugarCups (シュガーカップス) universe, that somebody might be small enough to hide behind the cup.
The girls come from Sugar Cup Wonderland, a fantastical sweets-filled place. They love desserts from the human world and secretly visit to hold tea parties in the shelter of teacups. That's the charming setting Azone introduced with the series in 2020. It also explains why their outfits look as if somebody turned an entire patisserie into a wardrobe.
But SugarCups are more than matching dresses and candy colours. Each character has her own favourite treat, personality and collection of tiny details.
First, what exactly are SugarCups?
SugarCups are Azone International's 1/12-scale character dolls, built on the Picco Neemo P body and standing approximately 13 cm tall. Their soft-vinyl heads feature inset doll eyes, typically 8 mm, and rooted-hair cap construction. Nanami Kitsuyuri (七海喜つゆり) created the original character designs, with head sculpting by Out of Base.
The line launched with three girls between late 2020 and early 2021. A fourth character, Marshmalotta, was announced in April 2026 for Sugar Sugar Party 4. So if you remember the original trio, there is now another seat at the tea table.
Chocolala (ショコラーラ) - the chocolate-loving organiser

Chocolala was the first SugarCups character introduced. Azone describes her as bright and responsible, the dependable girl who keeps the group together. That composure gets a little less reliable around Valentine's Day, when all the excitement makes her restless.
Her favourite place in Sugar Cup Wonderland is the chocolate fountain in the park. I do admire someone whose preferred meeting spot is also a dessert.
Her original Welcome to Sugar Cup Wonderland! edition wore rich chocolate-brown layers, with Chocolate Brown hair and Muscat Jelly eyes. Later editions explore everything from creamy cat-themed fashions to chocolate-mint colours. The face is familiar, but the styling can completely change her mood.
Candyruru (キャンディールル) - the daydreamer with a candy jar

Debut: January 2021
Candyruru prefers doing things at her own pace. She's gentle, relaxed and prone to drifting into a daydream while gazing at the sweets in her favourite candy jar. Azone also says she enjoys brushing her hair while eating candy.
In Wonderland, her favourite season is the rainy period when candy falls from the sky. This is one weather forecast I would actually look forward to.
Her debut outfit leaned into playful pinks and blues, with Milky Pink braided hair, Blue Soda eyes, and candy-inspired accessories. More recent collaborations, including My little girl with F.L.C., show Candyruru in a very different, quietly classical outfit.
Biscuitina (ビスケティーナ) - cheerful, clumsy and biscuit-equipped

Biscuitina is the group's bright, energetic mood-maker. She is also famously a little clumsy. Azone's original character story describes her bag and apron pockets as being stuffed with biscuits, which sounds like a sensible emergency-preparedness policy.
Her first release paired Honey Biscuits hair with sparkling Raspberry Jam eyes. The biscuit-themed outfit established a character who looks ready to open a tiny bakery, even if she might misplace the tray.
If you have seen Nana's Biscuitina's Three Little Celebrations, you'll know how far a familiar character can travel: Easter garden, peppermint tea and a toy party, all with different collaboration designs.
Marshmalotta (マシュマロッタ) - a little cloud of daydreams

Announced: April 2026, for Sugar Sugar Party 4
The newest member brings a different kind of sweetness. Marshmalotta is easy-going, dreamy and fond of everything soft and fluffy. She loves amusement parks, especially looking up from a Ferris wheel at clouds that resemble marshmallows. Her own dream is to ride a cloud someday.
Azone created a new, sleepy-eyed head sculpt for her debut design. The marshmallow-inspired outfit includes a fluffy white beret, a pale blue-and-pink sailor jacket, mismatched pastel footwear and a twisted-marshmallow-shaped shoulder bag. Her hair is Soda & Berry Twist, and her eyes are Aurora Jelly.
One tiny detail worth knowing: this character was announced in 2026. That is not a statement that her doll has already been delivered to collectors or is available from Hanabana.
A few things new collectors should know
The same character can have many editions. An original release, anniversary edition and designer collaboration may feature different hair colours, eyes, facial expressions, skin tones, accessories and clothing. Use the full edition name or product code when comparing dolls, not just the character's name.
Small does not mean interchangeable. The Picco Neemo P body is especially petite, and other clothes labelled 1/12-scale may not fit the same way. Check the garment measurements and which body it was made for. Azone also specifies different body colours, including White and Milky White, on particular releases.
Look at the box contents, not just the photos. Azone's lovely miniature scenes sometimes use photography props that are not included with the doll. The official product list tells you which little bags, hands, headpieces and other accessories actually come in the set.
And finally, choose the character or edition you genuinely enjoy looking at. The lore is charming, but a tiny face and outfit that make you smile every time you walk past the shelf are a perfectly good place to start.

If these four hosted tea together, Chocolala would probably organise everything, Candyruru would spend several minutes admiring a candy jar, Biscuitina would arrive with enough biscuits for everyone, and Marshmalotta might quietly fall asleep against a marshmallow cushion.
The only real problem would be convincing Biscuitina to leave the snacks alone until the guests arrive. (´꒳`)♡
