Azone's PlasCloth Has Arrived - But These Outfits Aren't Doll Clothes

The tiny uniforms look familiar. The intended models are not quite the same.

Azone has spent years making clothes for poseable dolls, so it makes sense that the company would eventually look at another hobby desk. On 2 October 2026, it announced PlasCloth (プラスクロス), a new brand specifically for bishoujo plastic model kits.

That final part is worth underlining. This is not an announcement that every PlasCloth piece fits an Ex☆Cute, SugarCups or Iris Collect doll. Plastic models and dolls may share a shelf, but their proportions, connections and body materials can be quite different.

What is PlasCloth?

The name combines the world of plastic models with clothing. Azone's original Japanese description calls it a brand for 美少女プラキット - beautiful-girl plastic model kits.

The announcement shows the sort of detailed soft-goods styling Azone is known for: schoolwear, sailor uniforms and coordinated outfits designed to dress up assembled model-kit figures. The first showcased examples include a short-sleeve school-uniform coordination set in White and Maroon Check and a long-sleeve sailor-style coordination set in White and Gray.

For the event selection, Azone also named short-sleeved sailor-style outfits in Navy and White. Those are examples of the range shown around the brand announcement, not a statement about every future release.

The October debut

Azone previewed PlasCloth at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show, held at Tokyo Big Sight on 3-4 October 2026. The brand launch included advance sample displays and a selection of event-only trial sets.

The official launch notice does something even more useful: it names supported plastic-model kit bodies for the event outfits. Its stated examples include Sousai Shojo Teien (創彩少女庭園) Dress Up Body S, M and L from Kotobukiya, plus Aoshima's KemoPla human-parts set, except when fitted with its largest bust part. These are manufacturer-stated candidates for the showcased outfits, not a promise of perfect fit for every future PlasCloth design.

Collectors should check which specific kit body an outfit is designed for rather than assuming that a letter such as S or M means the same size as a Pure Neemo S or M. The same letter in two different product systems is not a fitting test. We've made that mistake with shoes before, haven't we? (¬‿¬)

What we know and what we don't

Question Confirmed by Azone Still needs product-specific confirmation
Is PlasCloth a new Azone brand? Yes, announced on 2 October 2026 Future product range and timing
What is it for? Beautiful-girl plastic model kits Product-specific fit beyond the listed showcase bodies
Were outfits previewed publicly? Yes, at the 3-4 October hobby show Whether a particular event item has a general retail release
Does it fit Pure Neemo or SugarCups? No such general guarantee is made in the announcement Do not assume compatibility without an explicit listing

For Journal readers who also build model kits, this could be a fun new way to style figures. Check the specifically named model kits first, and check new outfit listings individually. For collectors who only own Azone dolls, the sensible approach is to wait for doll-specific fit information rather than buy by eye.

Nana's little note ♡

A school uniform that looks beautifully pressed at 1/12 scale is a small triumph. I have trouble keeping a full-size collar tidy.

I'm curious to see whether Azone expands PlasCloth into casualwear, layered outfits and accessories. That's Nana's wish list, though, not an announced product roadmap.

We'll keep an eye on the official Azone News for further releases and any verified fit information. Hanabana Hobbies' Azone collection is the place to check current doll products, not proof of PlasCloth inventory.
