Autumn plaid, little animal friends and just enough miniature outfit inspiration to make a whole afternoon disappear.
Tokyo's Azone Label Shop Akihabara is hosting Tartan & Friends - 小さい秋のrurukoドール展, an exhibition focused on ruruko, the fashion doll from PetWORKs.
Azone's original event announcement describes a small autumn gathering full of tartan patterns and animal companions. It's one of those ideas that works remarkably well in doll scale: a plaid skirt, a quiet pose and perhaps the suggestion of a little story just outside the photograph.
The exhibition runs 9 October to 3 November 2026, from 11 AM to 8 PM, on the seventh floor of Akihabara Radio Kaikan, at Azone Label Shop Akihabara. According to the organiser's announcement, admission is free.
This is a Japan exhibition report from official sources, not a claim that Nana or Hanabana visited the event.

A fresh face, and a very tartan bunny

The detailed 30 September notice identifies four dolls in the event selection:
| Edition | Azone's sales designation | What collectors should know |
|---|---|---|
| Fresh ruruko 26AZ | Event-exclusive | A special Azone-limited ruruko with understated, versatile styling |
| Tartan Bunny ruruko | Event-first | A tartan-themed bunny edition available ahead of a possible wider release |
| Asagiri no ruruko PS (朝霧のruruko PS) | Event-first | A special PS edition in the advance-sale selection |
| CCSgirl 26SS ruruko PS | Event-first | Another special PS edition in the advance-sale selection |
There is a meaningful difference between event-exclusive and event-first. Event-exclusive indicates a specifically limited event item, while event-first indicates an early opportunity, not a promise of permanent exclusivity. Azone does not guarantee wider later availability just because an item was sold first at the event.
The two categories should never be lumped together as "all limited editions".
Outfits and accessories have their own moment

Azone's updated announcement also mentions special event clothing and shoes available alongside the dolls.
That's a natural fit for ruruko, a doll whose styling often changes dramatically through miniature fashion. A single carefully chosen outfit can make the same character feel ready for an entirely different scene.
If you happen to be visiting, make time to look at the displays rather than only the item list. An exhibition is a chance to see how the clothing, posing and overall character design work together.
Sales methods may vary, and Azone tells buyers to check the latest Akihabara Label Shop notices for up-to-date instructions.
A note for collectors outside Japan
This exhibition is at the Akihabara store in Tokyo, not a Hanabana event in Malaysia. The official notice says that post-event sales have not been decided, and no overseas allocation or Hanabana inventory has been announced in the cited material.
So this story is best treated as a look at doll fashion and an invitation to admire what makers are doing, rather than an overseas preorder announcement.
Nana's little note ♡
I rather like a collection with a shared fabric idea. Plaid is small enough to seem like a simple detail, but it gives a display its own visual rhythm. Even one little bunny can turn an ordinary shelf into an autumn story.
And a show where people can admire outfits at close range sounds like a lovely afternoon, provided I don't get distracted by the shoe section. (´꒳`)♡
